In the next two weekends Troy Junior High School will send students off to various State/National competitions:
Good luck to the Archery Team as they compete this Friday, May 11 at Nationals in Louisville, KY! They qualified for this event at the State competition held in Columbus in March. Coaches Olden and Roberts have once again done an outstanding job of preparing these students for this event. Good luck team!
Good luck to Bailey Williams as he heads to Washington, DC to compete this coming Saturday, May 12 in the Junior High National History Bee! Bailey qualified for this event by winning the JH Ohio Regional History Bee held at TJHS in February. Thanks to Mr. Crews for bringing this event to Troy, and to the TJHS Social Studies department for helping Bailey prepare for this weekend. The final match will be broadcast at a later date on the History channel with the champion receiving $50,000 in scholarship money. Good luck Bailey! For more info go to http://ms.historybee.com/
Good luck to Nick Minesinger, who had one of his film submissions, (Always Believe) chosen to be in the Sundog 9 Film Festival! This will premiere on Saturday, May 12th at the Little Art Theatre, 247 Xenia Ave. Yellow Springs 45387, from 2:00-4:00. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at that time. Admission is free and open to the public. Over 160 entries were received from 19 schools and only 22 made the cut. Congratulations and good luck to Nick as he participates in the festival this year!
Congratulations to Natalie Henson who won the regional Optimist Oratorical Contest in Lima! Natalie qualified for the regional contest by winning the district contest in Troy, sponsored by the Troy Noon Optimist club. Natalie will be speaking at the State competition in Columbus on Saturday, May 19th. Good luck Natalie!
