Finish Strong

Life is very busy at TJHS and the year is quickly coming to a close.  I want to share some of our upcoming events as well as encourage everyone to finish strong.  Our state testing was last week with make-up testing this week.  We have testing for our 7th grade students with our Algebra readiness assessment coming up tomorrow.  Thursday evening is the next JH orchestra concert in the HS auditorium at 7:00PM.   Friday will bring the Health Fair that Mrs. Wilson is putting together.  Next week is teacher appreciation week...stop and thank a teacher!  The teachers at TJHS do an excellent job of providing a quality education to our students, and they deserve to be recognized for all that they do!  The JH large group music contest being held at Troy HS will bring the week to a close next week.  7th Grade Parent Orientation will be held on Thursday, May 17 at 6:00PM in the JH Cafeteria.  This should last about an hour.   Parents of current 6th grade students are encouraged to attend.  Hobby Day will be on May 18th.  There is a JH choir concert in the HS auditorium on May 22 at 7:00PM and a JH band concert at the same location on May 23 at 7:00PM.  Our Veterans Day program will be held the afternoon of May 25.  The last day of school is May 30...whew, I think that covers most of our events!  All of this and my wife is due with our third child any day!!  Needless to say, we have a lot going on right now.

With all of the important events coming up and the end of the school year quickly approaching, it is easy to get caught up in the business of things.  However, there are many positive things to celebrate at TJHS.  I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoy serving as the principal of this building.  The quality staff, students, and families that make up TJHS have allowed for my first year here to be fantastic.  I have enjoyed getting to know many of our students and families, and I look forward to the bright future of TJHS and Troy City Schools.  Take these final weeks of school to reflect on the quality year that we have had, look forward to next year, and most of all...Finish Strong. Go Trojans!

Sincerely,

Dave Dilbone
Principal
