TJHS Spring 2018 Update

As I sit here and reflect on this school year, it makes me a firm believer in the phrase that days go slow and years go fast.  It seems like yesterday that we began planning for this school year.  It is hard to believe that we have about two weeks of school remaining.  As a reminder, our last day for students this year will be Thursday, May 31st.  As we do at the end of each quarter, we will release students at 1:40pm on that day.

Our Spring sports season came to a close with the TJHS Girls Track Team bringing home the GWOC North Championship hardware!  We also had 6 girls compete at the OHSAA 7th and 8th Track & Field State Championship in Lancaster, OH.  Not only did they qualify in the top 16 in the state to be able to compete in this meet, but all 6 finished in the top 8 and made the podium! Congrats to the 4x200m relay team of Hannah Falknor, Leah Harnish, Catie O'Neill, and Kaylee King on a 5th place finish and new school record!  Congrats to Emma Kennett on a 5th place finish and new school record in the 800m!  Congrats to Sophie Fong on a 4th place finish and new school record in the pole vault!  Three new school records...WOW!!

Recently, our Archery Team qualified and competed at the National competition in Louisville, KY.  The team had to qualify for Nationals from the state competition...OUTSTANDING!!

TJHS has 4 students headed to Atlanta, GA in early June to compete in the National History Bee and US Geography Olympiad.  Congrats to Margaret Snee, Ryan Martz, and Ethan Martin, who qualified for the National History Bee!  Congrats to Nathan Mamitog, who qualified for the US Geography Olympiad!  TJHS had 4 students qualify to compete in these National academic competitions...AWESOME!!

There are many excellent learning activities taking place as we look forward to having a strong finish to another excellent school year at TJHS.  I encourage our students to approach the next two weeks with the same level of academic enthusiasm as they have throughout this school year.

Go Trojans!
