TJHS Prepares for Back to School

August is here and the start of the 2012-2013 school year is quickly approaching.  I hope that each of you had a relaxing and restful summer.  Summer break can serve as a great opportunity to rejuvenate the mind and body.  The upcoming school year brings some exciting changes.  New to the Troy Junior High School staff this year include Mrs. Meredith Parris, 8th Grade Language Arts; Mr. Scott Dieringer, 7th Grade Math; Mrs. Katy Shipley, Administrative Assistant; and Mr. Randy Walters, School Psychologist.  Welcome to Troy Junior High School!

On Wednesday, August 22, 2012, approximately 700 young men and women will come through our doors with the expectations of a quality education.  Much is done to ensure that we are prepared for the return of the students.  The custodial staff has worked diligently this summer to ensure that the building is clean and in good order.  The counselors have poured over schedules as they finalize class lists and enroll new students.  The secretaries have provided excellent customer service to the many visitors and phone calls received throughout the summer.  Mrs. Jones and I have participated in many meetings and have a lengthy checklist as the start of school nears.  Many teachers have been in the building already, and many more are working on preparations from home.  I feel confident that TJHS will continue to meet the expectations of our school community!
